Part of why this thread caught my eye is because, when deciding which armor set I may want to buy for my necro I ended up buying the Bonelace set in GC ~ I'd possibly have waited to buy the Tormentor's once they add the new graphics, but chose not to simply due to the fact that, considering materials cost etc, that 60k armor set would actually be more like an 80k + armor set.

The thing I'm trying to understand though, is are you simply trying to come up with what a crafter's potential selling market would be should you choose to make the steel for resale ? And no, I'm not trying to present any arguements etc, but rather just trying to figure out what the specific point you're trying to make may be ...

As it goes, I spent a good amount of time trying to get more runes etc unlocked, and made a decent amount of gold sort of via the nature of that process ... but also in that process I easily salvaged 500+ of most crafting materials. You could argue that this takes a long time, but it really doesnt once you've been through explorable areas a couple of times ~ you tend to pick up on things like how if you want go gather leather, Whitman's is about 75% armor drops that salvage into leather, Perdition Rock is an easy source for bone etc.

So again, I suppose I'm just trying to understand what it is you're explaining with the original post. Also, out of curiousity, I was wondering if you'd at all tried selling the steel to one of the material traders to see what they offer as a buying price, and if the average falls somewhere in line with the prices you'd calculated, as I suppose if you *are* simply coming up with a base market value, you'd also be underselling yourself to sell per piece to a player for anything less than a trader would offer.

I bought a 10-pack of Deldrimor Steel at the material merchant yesterday for 600g.

The craftable only materials are strange. The last time I checked to see how much 10 Deldrimor Steel would sell for at the NPC, it said 30 gold.... I've never seen it for sale at the NPC, but I guess if you sold 10, then 10 would be available, i've never done this cause that would be a 7000 gold experiment that I'd feel stupid for.

Snepp says he bought it once, so some idiot must have sold 10 just to see what would happen and Snepp benefited from it.

Sadye X, I came up with the topic because I was sick of people saying Deldrimor Steel for 500+ is a scam and was also sick of people selling it for 1500+ when it cost far less.

However, in the past couple of days I've noticed charcoal has become more rare and more expensive, I can hardly trade for it because not many people have it and when they do, I have to trade it for 200-250 gold. With the new rare material trader, it'll be even harder to buy charcoal at those prices because the NPC gives it a base price of 350, that as last night and I haven't checked today so It may be higher.

Tonight I'll post all the new prices.

I'd like to see Wrath of m0o expand his idea more. Maybe we can come up with how much time costs. Obviously people making Deld Steel for resale should get a profit because it does take time, in my original post I priced that time at 100 gold, maybe it's more, maybe less, but we should discuss it. Its easy to go out and get all the materials for 10, but for all 35-40 it takes even longer, and harder, and to get it from a resaler all 35-40 at once saves the buyer so much time and that should cost him something. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe 300-400 gold is fair profit instead of 100-150.

Well for starters charcoal wich is 10 wood+200g to craft, so if you bought 10 wood for 10g each(going rate) charcoal costs 300g to craft. When ever i see someone selling charcoal for anything less than 300, I buy it.

Iron, dust and wood have been trading well at 10g each (cost you 15 each at merch) So if you can buy it less, than good for you. I was buying at 10g each because that impulsed people to sell it.

So if deld steel is 10 iron (100) + 5 dust (50) + charcoal (300) + (200g) crafting fee
you get deldrimore steel at 650 cost. Unless you have a guild that is pumping supplies into many alt characters inventory as a storage tank. It took me several hours to come up with the materials to make ingredients for deldrimore steel, Then when i ran out of materials, it took more time aquiring more to go craft it.

I have been selling it at 1k because that is what i paid for it my first time to the citadel. Having 60k when i got there i immediately bought 15k worth to check out this new armor. So my 1st peice of armor cost me 15k for deldrimore steel and 15k to craft. Being my 2nd character, i skipped out on the armor at droknars forge and went right to citadel.

Yea, good checking the prices. But now that there is a rare material NPC, charcoal is less than 10 wood + 200g.

Ok, new pricing and new logic that should make everyone happy. There'll be two sets of prices, one for the fastest way wihtout trading, and second will be the slowest way which is trading with people to get the cheapest price.

Fastest way (buying it all from merchants):
Charcoal 230-290g
Iron 18-24gx10 180-240g
Dust 15gx5 75
Craft 200g
Total 685-805g

Slowest way (trading with people):
Charcoal 100-180g
Iron 11-17gx10 110-170g
Dust 5-8gx5 25-40g
Craft 200g
Total 435-590g

Fastest way is the most expensive, but least time consuming. Slowest way is the least expensive, but MOST TIME consuming. Charcoal is rare and limited in use, and most people don't have it or want it and I suspect people have been selling it off to the rare merchant to make a quick buck which helps in the lower cost of charcoal from the NPC merchants.

No point in buying deldrimor steel over 685-805g when you can make it for the same price in the fastest way. No point in selling deldrimor steel for less than 435-590g when it cost you that much to trade it.

Depending on the day and prices that the NPC merchants are buying and selling at, deldrimor steel can be from 435-590g to 685-805g.

Recomanned buying/selling price, depends. Use the charts above, use your head, figure it out. I can make a quick excel document that can take the price of charcoal and iron to give you the price of deldrimor steel if anyone wants, but i'm lazy right now, this should be sufficent enough.

-i haven't spell checked, sry

Yes, it was one of those "one shot deals" that were there. It was the only time I've seen it in there and I haven't seen it since.
